Development continues, but not without its hiccups. However, there is good news as I still feel that I should meet the release date of July. Specifically when is still up in the air. However, a final Character Generator and a Character Manager are nearing completion. Then I have some bugs to hunt down and fix. So, what’s the good news? Simply put its…

that the character manager is working very nicely. I have been using it for weekly games and I used it to create some pretty crazy characters for Dungeons and Doritos.  Aside from a small bug lists, and some development issues, the characters worked, ran smoothly, and were created fairly easily considering their sources. Most of the development issues were developmental oversights, such as adding a section to character sheets for racial abilities. Some functional oddities remain as well, but overall they were far fewer than I expected. All of them are easily worked around and tomorrow should suffice to handle the corrections before moving onto new elements that need to be created. Only a few lingering developmental issues remain, and they really only matter in the context of time. So, I may have some a small work around that can be patched into a better feature later on. None of them are things I expect the end user will even suspect as being something the developer labored over in any way.

Only one lingering problem remains, which involves the length of time it is taking to refresh a character sheet. Hopefully this can be resolved later on. As it stands, it remains at the bottom of the list. Functional features remain as they are unless there is time at the end of the day to “tweak” them. Everything, so far, is on target for an absolutely final deadline of July 19th, which should give me a week or two to write up the help file and finish the install package, and make final tweaks to the campaign files and updating the current product line.

Still, there is the Game Master Screen. So far, it remains on the chopping block for release. It is looking more likely that it will make it in the final product without needing a patch, but there is no guarantee. Murphy’s Law being what it is, I have settled on the fact that it may need to be patched in. However, I hold on to hope.

Oh, yeah: the CRM appears to be finished, sans GM Screen.

Until next time: Happy Gaming!
